Socialism in the classroom...a great example!

My dad sent this to me, and I thought I would share because it is very true!

Very interesting......

As the late Adrian Rogers said, "you cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."
This ma
n is truly a genius!

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before,

but had once failed an entire class.
That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".
All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.
The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.
As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.
The second test average was a D!
No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that.

Our Summer: Trek

Well, we still have not received any of the pictures that were taken of the Pioneer Trek that we went on for the Stake Youth Conference. So, we will just have to put up our amateur pictures that we took. The Trek was from June 11-13, and it rained almost the entire time. We were freezing cold, and the 20 miles trail was horribly muddy. We would have taken pictures of the mud, but we didn't want to mess up our camera. We know we were being watched over, though, because every time we stopped to eat, and when we stopped at night, the rain would stop. But as soon as we started walking, it started raining again. It was tough, but it was a great experience.

Our Girls. L to R: Tessa, Alyssa, Dani, Jenna

The Guys. L to R: Colby, Paul, and Ryan with our baby Mary.

Ryan lovingly carrying our baby!

Dinner time! We used dutch ovens to cook all of our meals. They were pretty good, especially the cobbler!

Trekking the second day. The ponchos didn't do any good, we were soaked to the bone!

Getting close to the end.

Dinner the second night. Less smiles after such rough 2 days.

I am a Genius! and such

Well, we survived the Youth Conference Trek, which I will blog about later. I am also pretty much ready for camp on Monday June 22nd, which, I must say, is a miracle! I will blog about that also, later.

This week I received a big envelope in the mail, and thought I would blog about it before I forget my special little accomplishment. I opened the big envelope thinking that it was the statement of financial aid that I would be receiving in the fall. To my surprise, it was not a financial aid statement, but a certificate. Recovering from my shock, I read it over and it said that I had made the Dean's list! Amazing! I am in the top 15% of Metropolitan Community College, which means I am one of the smartest in da hood! Yea me! I'll have to treat myself to McDonald's or something.

Mission Call

My parents received their mission call today, and they aren't doing a mission at all, but a vacation! They are going to Honolulu, Hawaii! We just set up their blog to share their adventures as they prepare for their mission, and throughout their mission. It is http://steveandmickeyrobbins.blogspot.com/

Our very own Marley

A month ago we went to see Marley and Me, and it was so funny!

After leaving the theater we realized why it was so funny to us, we have our very own Marley that we can't imagine living without. She is our Discount Dog. (We paid only $80 for her)

We got her because she was just so cute and playful. She had big floppy ears that we thought she would grow into.

She got along very well with Roslyn.

She was small, close to Roslyn's size. She loves to eat! She doesn't crawl around in her food, but she does hork it down, and then belches right after.

But then the mischief started....

...and as she has gotten bigger it has gotten worse.

She now picks on Roslyn, loves carrots (so much that she will go outside and pretend to use the bathroom to get one)...

...and is now always getting into stuff. She hasn't chewed through a door just yet, but she has almost chewed through the bars of the baby gate that keeps her in the kitchen. (The bittering agent didn't work)

The reason for the post today is because I looked over and she was laying on her blanket, eating one of my pansies. Not just one of the flowers, but she had pulled out the entire plant, and was sitting there eating it!

So, I just needed a reminder of why I love her so much , thus this journey down memory lane!
